Precision Rifle Fundamentals

Data From The Past, Success In The Future.

D.O.P.E. stands for "data on prior engagements". Generally, you think of a rifle's zero as one distance where the rifle's point of impact equals the point of aim. While this is true for a layperson's level of understanding, in long distance rifle shooting we seek to gather an infinite number of additional zeros at all kinds of distances in order to build a database of all the corrections from previous shots for this specific rifle and bullet, to then predict the firing solution necessary to make future shots on the first try.

We will confirm our baseline zero, then shoot steel targets out to 1000 meters.

Remember, we can provide for you all weapon systems, scopes, ammunition, and equipment. You are certainly welcome to bring and use your own, but buying expensive gear is not necessary to participate in this training course. Always communicate proactively with the instructor if you need to use the school's equipment and ammunition so that we can prepare for you.
